Potato River Falls

Located just outside the town of Gurney, the 90-foot Potato River Falls are perhaps the best known falls in the area.

Upson Falls

Just over three miles south from the Whitecap along the Potato River, you’ll find these fast-flowing, 50-foot-wide cascades, located in Upson Town Park.

  • 18-foot drop into the Potato River just north of Upson
  • Camping and picnic area available in the park
  • Short 3.3 mile hike or drive from Whitecap Mountains Resort
Copper Falls

This state park is located about two miles northeast of Mellen in Ashland County. The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Quick 31-minute drive from Whitecap Mountains Resort
  • Well-maintained hiking trails.
  • Concession stand and gift shop open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and on weekends through mid-October.
